the last two coyotes I have shot this year have been covered with little white bugs.... the size of a pin head, with a brown head on them... they are very slow moving... Anyone know what these are... Im in the midwest... if that helps...

If they are they are in the laval stage... Once the coyote is dead... They all come out and gather aroung the nose.. and mouth...

I would google the little white bastards  If you can, take a picture next time so that we can all see it!!! It then will be easier to determine what the possibilities are.

Are they lice?

Not sure on the flea life cycle. I know pretty much every coyote I have ever skinned has had at least one flea on them. Usually they are bigger than a pin head though, brown, and pretty fast moving. They always give me the creeps. The worst was when I got in the house and was looking in the mirror and had one crawling on my forehead.

I ran outside, undressed in a snowbank, then ran in the house and took the hottest, longest shower I ever took. Found my clothes about a week later after it snowed and then melted again.

Huh I wasn't aware that birds carried fleas I guess. I suppose though there isn't much difference and those feathers probably provide a lot of warmth.

I have done the spraying trick. Last time when we skinned in the field we were at the father in laws cabin and forgot raid so we just skinned fast and drank beer to forget about the damn fleas.

Probably Dog Louse, if you google it you should find some picture. They are white about 1-3 mm in length. Apparently all canids can carry these.

sounds about right to me huntinND, there are some studies on them on the web I have read. they sound pretty prevalent and can really cause some problems. I have not noticed any though on my coyotes. Fleas so bad on most that I do not look that hard either.
