7.62x54?

Is a mosin nagant with a 7.62x54 147 to 180 gr bullet ok for coyote hunting.

I actualy own a mosin nagant m44, it has the b squared scope adapter with a long relief pistol scope ( bushnell).
It might be the most useless gun I've ever bought.
The russian surplus ammo if erratic at best (when it fires).
If you can find hollow point rounds, or if you load your own, it would definitly kill a yote though. If you are going to hunt with it, either use the iron sights or have a good scope mount installed by a gunsmith, the ones that mount in place of the rear sight suck.
I understand the appeal of a cheap rifle, but save your money for a good gun in a good caliber, mosins are a waste.
