i have a 22x47 on a bat action an kierger barrel stan ware down in westbrook mn did the smithing on the rifle shoots great 4000fps with a 55 grain bullet. let me know some of the speed you get out of that 20x47 it should be a real speedster & flat shooting i had a 20 br an i am sorry i sold it. it was fast an accurate.

I'm just down the road from Stan, he builds most of my rifles..
I'll be going with a 20 cal. 50 and 55 gr.. The 50 should make it to 4000 fps and the 55 will make it to 3900.. Both bullets are on the long side but they are not VLD bullets, but darn close to it with a great B.C. The 20x47 is doing very well in the 600 yd. comp. shoots...

You can get them from Berger, not sure if the 50 is a new bullet or one that has been around.. The 55 is a new bullet that is a little longer, its not a VLD but close..I think the same apply's to the 50 if it is a new bullet... I talked to the woodchuck den owner the other day and he said he will also be comeing out with some bullets for the 20x47...

Re: 6x47 lapua
what's the proposed barrel life of that 6x47L? around 3K or so? any thoughts about pushing any of the 115g bullets, it'll give you a bit higher bc. I know a few guys out here that are shooting match with the 6x47L.

Re: 6x47 lapua
i would guest you are close about 3k down the pipe. you know its alot on how hot you load them. I have a 1&8 twist barrel which i think is a good all a round twist, i know guys that have shot 55 grain bullets very well out of their 223 & 243 cal rifles with 1&8 twist. i don't think i will be able to shoot the 115 from what i have read but i would need a 7.5 twist or faster. but you never know i will try.them barrels vary a little you know.
