Re: Crazy story(but true!)
I have a question. Why do road hunters alway drive around with all their whites on???? We all know your not getting out of the truck, why were ALL your whites in the truck?

Re: Crazy story(but true!)
I hear ya,
Thats what I was getting at in my original post. The old man in the buick Lesabre with a tally-ho around his neck. While they boys pushed the section out, was he gonna sit on the other end thinking that any coyote spooked out would naturally run toward the safe sound of a dying rabbit! (coyotes)..."Hey Larry, I know those guys are behind us but on the way out of this section, we should stop and grab a bite and I hear a dying rabbit dead ahead". Was he a fast food stop for a coyote?

He was probably wearing it to look important. Maybe he thought he was a "big deal".

Re: Crazy story(but true!)
i'm sorry if this story (real) is not in the right location but i figured maybe it belonged here. i am an somewhat active outdoorsman, i don't own any land in the country so all my hunting is on P.L.O.T.S lands or permission that i have gotten. but to hear what my family had seen not but maybe less than .25 mile from their farm is concerning to me. they are living on a farm that is owned by someone that now lives in town. they (my parents) take care of the place and keep an look out of the place. on their way into town own day. they saw something black run across the road ahead of them, when they got to where this "thing" crossed over, it stopped & looked back at them for a moment from a distance. well they could not tell for sure what it was never saw anything like that before until i took them to the internet, then they saw it. right before them was a black wolf. they swear up & down that is what they saw outside not a quarter mile down the road. i have been in that area for a little while & never saw anything like that. is it possible for a black wolf to be in the south eastern ND. have they always been here. do they normal hang around. the landowner does have about 40 cattle. is he looking for a free meal. how if possible do you get rid of them. thanks for your help. are they protected like the other wolves. i thought black ones was only in Cananda

Tango. yes, it's possible it was a wolf. they are showing up in extreme western mn. black is a common color for them. they are protected by law

Re: Crazy story(but true!)
Probably was a wolf. A wolf showed up in Eastersn S.D. around the White S.D. area. It was an isolated incident though. I also think they will start showing up in the Black Hills area in Western S.D. The ones around Yellowstone Park are decimating the deer herds and I think it is just a matter of time before they start moving Eastward. Someday there will probably be a limited season on them like the mountanin lion I expect.
