I shoot about the same set up and use 47.5 gr and Reloader 22. I live at about 5000 ft. that light load gives me 3500 fps. gun is capabile of more but am real happy with the results and will get a bit more barrel life out of it.

Is that also with the 69GR SMK's ??
3500FPS is AWESOME and I bet really puts the ZOOK on critters.
My 75's out my 22-250AI are only 3300ish FPS with 40GR of RL15. I havn't leaned on chamber PSI yet, so like you to add some life to the tube.
I have a Hart in 6MM and you could rule the world with that tube...
I got my load from Coyotehunter so what he said. I am loading some rounds today with a Berger 70 gr. We'll see how it works. Very happy with the speed and accuracy. I killed one today at 279 and it never even twitched.
i have decided that my ruger needs to get a paint job. but for anyone who has done this i have a question. if i extend my bipod all the way and paint it will it still slide and lock the way it is supposed to.

Mine didn't I had to wipe all the paint off.
Optimax90 had better luck maybe he can chime in with the secret.
I'm toting an older tang safety M77 .22-250 with a Douglas premium air-gauged stainless tube with a Tasco 4x-16x x 40. It's ugly, and it's heavy, but it tosses 50gr Ballistic tips to within 1/2" at 3800 fps. And coyotes just seem to drop dead whenever I point it at them. Problem is it has done much pointing this season.
Next season I'm hoping to be toting a .223 Ackley in a bit lighter package. Just gotta find the funds to send my current .223 off for a new tube and stock.
UPDATED 11/10
The .223 Ackley has come to fruition!! Rem 700 action with a PAC-NOR #4 contour SSSM tube cut to 24". All nestled into a Boyds FT Thumbhole stocks in forest camo. Vortex 4x-12x Diamondback scope. All metal painted with DuraCoat paint in snow gray.
The previous 15yrs I carried this one

i like it rory. did you strip down to bare wood before painting it.
the more food you have in your mouth at one time, the better you can taste it!!!

no i probably should have but i just painted over everything. i figure it will last a little while and hopefully when it wheres off i will have enough to put a new tube with a larger case on it, then it may get a plastic stock too. also it needs a leupold instead of a cheap baraska from sportsmans guide.
Breaking in my new 700 VTR in .223. Its seems to be sub MOA at 100 yards with Hornaday 55 grain V-max rounds. Im gonna try some of my buddys reloads soon and see how tight she holds at 200 and 300, but with factory ammo its holding Minute of Coyote at those distances.
