I saw a fox sitting on top of a hay bale the other night. I looked today and found all kinds of feathers and some scat on the same bale the fox was sitting on.
See how the grass is stomped down around this bale? Is that from fox and coyotes looking for mice and food around it?
I've heard that fox like to be a little higher than their surrounding ground...think this is a spot that a fox has been checking out? I'm thinking it would sit on top of that (mulch?) mound.
Pretty sure this is just a woodchuck hole, but what does a fox den look like? I have yet to see one.
My opinion would be to make a set at the (mulch?) mound and i would also make a set at the hay bail. If you can snare, i would hang a snare at the fence on the trail and collect some coon too. i would then grab a 220 and slap it right over the opening of that hole to knab that woodchuck and get him out of there for the landowner.

Good job. Make sure to leave some traps there, could be 3-5 more of them in the area..
As for the den question they look like the one you posted. Some fox that den on a fence line or higher ground will have a back door to the den but not always.. More than two holes then you could be dealing with a badger..
