I've been throwing around the idea of a new gun and have been considering the 204 it's been a while since this topic has been brought up have they made any better more stout bullets for the 20 cal yet

Bucks I'd love a 17-204 but I just want to pick up a gun off the shelf and go shoot it. I've seen a lot of guys using that 35 gr Berger and it does sound like people are having really good luck em.

I use mine a a window gun mostly. Prairie dogs and the occasional coyote volunteer. I do love the gun and caliber. used a few different bullets (hated the 32 gr. vmax) and really have no complaints with the bergers in the 35 gr.

Yeah, I'm following along. I haven't shot a coyote with anything bigger than a 25g HP, and that was years ago before all the new heavy 17 bullets really came into being. I didn't like what happened so that is the extent of shooting coyotes with a 17. 17's are good prairie dog guns. 
I'd grab a 22-250 on up for a dedicated coyote rig though. No matter what most guys say about the little pill, i'm still a skeptic. That's why I went with a 6mmSLR on this last barrel. But then i don't care how big of a hole it has in it.

Hey, don't forget about me there bucks. I'm one of those heavy bullet whackos too. I don't worry about hides very much either. I don't shoot enough coyotes over the course of the year to make fur hunting pay. I'll never give you 17 and 20 cal guys much shit about it. I know why you're using them. Did you ever get your mag figured out bucks? Wish I coulda been more of a help to you.

Oh he's got that mag issue solved.If he thinks there's likely more than one coyote at a spot,he takes my rifle when he leaves the truck.

That's pure gold right there Dcoy!!!! Bucks, I'm wondering if your follower or spring aren't in wrong. Is it possible? kinda bugs me that you can't get all the rounds in the mag. The fact that the first round hits low and the last ones pop loose is kind of a contradiction. The first one tells me the feed lips are too tight and the other suggests they're too open. Just doesn't add up. Makes me think it's the follower and/or spring.

Ive got an action sitting in the drawer here that im giving serious thought to having a .20-250 built around.
Take advantage of the 50 and 55 grain .20 cal bullets!
Unfortunatly, there isnt much info on it with those type bullets, everyone still wants to shoot those puny little 30-40 grain prairie dog bullets in a .20.
