What a bummer! Wiley had a lot of good years but slowly went down hill in the last year. I had him to the vet a few times and they couldn't tell me for sure what was wrong with him. The vet thought it might have been a thryoid problem. I think he had cancer as he started losing hair all over. Man that was hard to do and I still brake down when I think about him. Right now as a matter of fact as I write this. All I can do now is think of all the good times we had together. Pretty remarkable dog with a good personality . He was born the same day the Twin Towers went down. . Just about time to start hunting
Jerry I am sorry for your loss. I am glad I had the oppertunity not only to meet Wiley but hunt with him and yourself as well. Nothing harder than having to put down your best friend. Dogs are the only animal that love you more than they love themselves. Thoughts and prayers to you my friend.
I would rather have a slow hit than a fast miss...
Ole Buddy, I know you are kind of lost without your hunting partner, companion, and family member Wiley.
I am sure you and Paula have had that something is missing feeling the past few days. Wiley was a rare dog with a personality that grew with the amount of time he spent with you two until he was more like one of the kids than just another pet.
You've got a lot of fond memories and buckets full of stories to treasure.
My sympathy for your loss and my thanks for letting him share some time with me giving me memories I will never forget.
