Re: Howling
The video takes a long time to load. i think it took about 15 minutes for it to load on my computer. I just open the page and walk away for a bit, then when i come back it is loaded up and ready to play.

Re: Howling
Fiiinnnaaallllyyyy got it to work. Yes thats some good info...
The first howl demonstrated I use from time to time.. I just call it a short howl and I don't use to much barking in it.. When I use it, I use it on a hung up coyotes.. I get two reactions from it. The first is it draws them in a little closer in more of a relaxed state so I can get a shot. and the other if I add a few more barks I get a more aggressive response and may bring them to close and to fast......

Re: Howling
very informative. couldn't beleive how much different the recorded "pup in distress" was compared to your actual recording. Did you make that coyote pup a pet or just fatten it up to get a bigger pelt?

just had him for a few months to watch and learn. that distress was made when my daughter put a collar and a leash on him. He just sat down and cried. He was pretty upset. she took the collar off and that was the end of it.

Re: Howling
In areas where there is little calling pressure Jan through Feb it seems to work. I have an old mechanical siren that I have used for years as a locater call. There are times I have had them come to that call. No two yotes are the same. No two areas are the same. This is a try it and see if it works game. I probably have blown thousands of set ups in 62 years, but I have also dumped a ton of coyotes. When I moved from the east open side of the state to the west rain forest timber side it was a whole new experience and for a while I was running dry. Just kept trying until I found something that worked.

Re: Howling
Yes it is a hand crank. Think its older than I am? It works when the conditions are right though. It lets me know where they are, but doesn't help getting them out of the thick brush so I can get a shot at them. Problem in this state is we either have gates to contend with or no trespassing signs. Even the forest service is a pain in the rear when it comes to gates. Us old guys cant walk five miles like we use to. Guess its a problem any more no matter where you go. Back in the day we could go almost anywhere and we didn't abuse it, now look what we have to contend with?
