Hello from West Texas,
I just joined this site and have already learned alot. I have shot at many coyotes while out driving around, but I have never worked at calling them in. I took my 14 yr. old son out yesterday evening and we gave it a shot. We walked to a high sandy fence row covered in shinnery overlooking a section of CRP grass. As we walked up to our first spot we had picked out, a stand as you call it?, my son spotted a coyote on the other side about 150 yards out! I told him to hold off and we would see if we could call him up closer. We had his attention for a bit and then he hit the horizon. I should have let him take him, but I wanted to experiment I guess. A great day in the field even though we didn't see anything else. Just makes us want to be out there even worse!

Yeah they do...I can't wait to get back out there, but the wind is blowing pretty hard today. No shortage of that or coyotes out here.
