calln all bcat hunters
Hey guys I'm headn to texas to in a couple of weeks and i'm going to be goin after some bobcats for a couple of days. i'll be huntin all night and all day until i get one. i'll be on my own i just need a little advice. what kind of spot light should a guy use for this. is there any paticular sound that works best high pitch low pitch. what kind of terrain should a guy look to call at night versus the day. how often should a guy scan with the spot light or should a guy leave it on and pan around with it the whole time your calln. how spooky are they at night versus the day can a guy get away with a little more movement at night. length of time on stand at night versus day. i've tried down there before at night and called in coyotes on every stand until the light went dead and we called it a night but no bcats. ay advice will help thanks a lot

hey the chicken dance tune never thought of that might be the ticket. i played the old rocky tune (gonna fly now) on the last stand of the day in the dickinson tourny last year and jesse was laughing so hard i thought he was going to end up at the bottm of a butte. i will get some pics for you guys and let ya know how it went. pretty nasty country lots and lots of cactus chiggers spiders everything bites or pokes you but man it is awsome down there lots of wildlife.

Re: calln all bcat hunters
Depending on what part of Texas, may make a difference....maybe not, I hit South Texas every December for 10 days...on a friends Ranch ......we have taken Bobs on pipeline senderos...and on tanks......the thicker the cover the better....especially if you have a stream to sit by...or a tripod .......the Bob's in Texas are longer and leaner than the ones here in Missouri.....leggy jokers down there....and thinner...., again , depending on the location....I'd keep a "heads up" for them BIGGER cats down there.........they scream a bit louder..weigh a lot more..and have LOTS bigger teeth .........and the idea of an all nighter , alone , in South Texas......hmmmmmmmm
I may want to sit in a steel cage.....just in case Mr Cougar got too curious.........

Re: calln all bcat hunters
haven't left yet, we'll be leavn next friday. but there was a change of plans that litterally crushed me guess we cant get into the ranch this year where we were going to be able to hunt with a rifle but next year it will happen kimber 84 and I are already makin plans. so it is off to the cadena ranch which is a bow only ranch to hunt hogs and javelina and do as much night callin and early mornin callin as i possibly can but i'm not holding my breath. there are a lot of cats on the ranch last year i saw 3 called in one to 10yd and didn't get a shot and the other one caught me off guard it just came walking across the road straight at me and i didn't have my bow in my hand it was about 10ft from me when she busted me half a second more and i would have sent an arrow home. so with any hope i will get an opprotunity this time with the old stick bow. the old grim reaper hasn't exactly been shinin down on me for the last year when it comes to the old bow and arrow but i feel the winds of change a comin for the old
devil dog :twisted:it's time to make some shit bleed!! p.s. mr bush i too shoot a real bow
