Thats the best coyote to kill in my opinon. A female with a suitcase is truly a trophy in control work. Nice work

I wanted to do a little research before posting this picture. I took this den about a week ago. I wasn't able to find in any of my literture a den or "double den" of this size. I also asked some guys that have been doing this for a long time and they hadn't seen one of this magnitude.
We seen the female run into the den and i was able to get her shot. I retrieved 11 juveniles from the den that were 2-3 days old and started to examine the female to make sure that 11 was all she had only to find out that she was a day or two away from giving birth to 10! In two to three days that single den would have had 21 hungry juveniles in it!
From what i can find out this is the largest double den anyone that i have talked to so far has ever witnessed or heard about.
The ratio in juveniles was 12 males to 9 females.
Needless to say the sheep rancher was happy
No wonder why we can't get ahead

kind of explains why they fill in voids so fast. In an uncontroled area a guy can see why there is never a shortage of coyotes to hunt.
