moonlight coyote!

Post by mitchkvernum »

Made it out for an evening... Well...A Night  of calling last night. We made around 5 sets and picked up 1 gorgeous coyote.

Heres the recount of events ..

Left town at around 8 and made it to our first set. We drew a blank and decided to mozy up the road to try something " A little different" for us.

We were in a heavily pressured area that gets called ALOT during the daylight hours. We hid the truck and headed out into a huge wheat field and set up right in the MIDDLE. The field was surrounded by deep ravines and brushy draws. There HAD to be a coyote or two in the immediate area, the question was would he come in.

We sat back to back and 20 minutes in Marty see's a coyote loping down the field. Marty shoots and the coyote expires. SWEET. I ki-yi and her partner immerges, but has no intentions of committing..

The rest of the night was slow as we ended up getting back into town around 2:30 A.M.

Marty headed to work which is a hour and a half drive. He has to be there at 6:30.. We did the same routine last night. Marty is running on 4 hours of sleep in 2 days, Guy is a machine when it comes to chasing these coyotes. LOL..

Here are the pics.

maybe 3-4 inches over the fields, with some of the roads being snowed in as well.. But not a lot in most areas.
