Called in my first coyote

Post by MEHunter23 »

Last Saturday my cousin and I went out on pushaw lake in old town,Maine. We were set up by eleven and and the coyotes arrived 15 minutes later. I started off with a couple howls but nothing happened, then I switched to my hand-held electronic call and left that running with a rabbit distress and picked up my hand rabbit call and did them at the same time. The sound that the calls made were the most terrible sounds I have ever heard. Right after I did that we saw two coyotes running at us. I flicked the 5 milllion candlepower spotlight on and my cousin fired but shot over them. He took one more shot at them running but missed. It was the coolest thing I have ever done. I think what made them come in was how I had two different calls going at the same time. Iwas wondering if anyone has tried that? Also if anyone has any tips for me I would apprieciate them.

Ya we were sitting on the shoreline and they running right down the shore. All we could see were their legs running on the snow because it was a dark night. I am definatly going to try that place again.
