HUGE LOSE

Post by devildogg »

Yesturday morning 6/23/10 at the six mile bay bridge near devils lake there was a tragic accident with the lose of a good friend a great guy an excellent gunsmith and a hell of a hunter. Randy Meyers of Devils Lake was killed in a head on collision with a delivery truck his partner and best friend was driving them to pre fish a tournment. He will be greatly missed. Randy was a great guy he loved to hunt and fish. He did a lot of fox and coyote hunting some of my earliest memories of hunting especially fox hunting were with Randy. My dad and him were really close friends and they did a ton of fox and coyote duck and goose hunting and a lot of fishing together. I have one gun in my cabinet that he built for my dad for fox hunting and my dad passed it on to me over 20 years ago now that gun means more to me than any other in the cabinet. Thank you Randy for being a good friend and mentor. I know your killing some beautiful coyotes where your at now.

I knew Randy really well. Shot skeet and archery leagues with him for many years. I always kind of admired what he could accomplish being in that damn chair (he was a paraplegic). The guy never ever let it slow him down and shot a stickbow instinctively better than many could shoot a compound with sights!

Hell of a shot, hell of an outdoorsman, hell of just a general good guy.

Wish I could say the same of the guy driving the truck that day......but thats another story.
