anybody have the problem of their shooting stix sinking in the snow and almost being worthless WELL I just put snowshoes on my stix? I mounted a round plastic top to a nut can to the bottom and now they stay on top of the snow or sink in only inches anyone want to market it I get 40%
Be nice.....I left you alone when you put condoms and balloons on your gun By the way thanks for that tip, when I shot a coyote with a blue ballon on my gun, it just shattered everywhere
Yeh,the old balloon trick works well.Just be careful of the color you use.Was standing by my truck in NoDak one time when a guy in white pulls up to chat. Then I see him looking at my rifle, then glancing at me,then leaving rather fast I thought. Then it dawned on me,he didn't like the pink color of my balloon I guess.
We use a thin leather strap that is wider than the bi-pods legs. Cut a slit on each end and in a few inches. Place on legs and now you bi-pods will ride up on top of the snow..-
If it's deep snow, I'm usually using snowshoes, all you need to do is flip one or both of the shoes upside down and push them in. They act like a floor. Only problem with it is the holes. But if you keep that in mind it's good to go.

With practice, you CAN LEARN to use the snowshoes themselves as your rest in the old Creedmoor target fashion if you want but it takes a younger body than my present one-particularly the 'getting back up' part after you're done shooting. Its fun though,a contorted controlled collapse that ends up with the rifle solidly resting on one shoe.Hopefully.I'd give serious shekels to be present the first time TBUSH attempts it considering his love of deep snow and snowshoes.
