Something for the recreational and tournament callers to key in on is that finding denning areas in the late summer can really pay off. Come October the area around that den would have been a honey hole for calling to say the least with all of those pups looking for food on their own.
It also gives a guy the knowledge that just because you seen where someone dragged out a coyote a week ago doesn't mean it isn't worth calling.
A few dens like that located before hand could pay off in the Classic!
Boy,I hear ya Levi.Bowhunted turkeys this AM and pd $3.58 a gallon. Then,if not bad enough, the news mentioned OPEC talking $200 a barrel oil=$9.50 to $11 a gallon gas.
Impossible I think but?????If true there likely won't be a Tourney.
HMMMMMM 10 bucks a gallon!! Just one more thing to take up the rear end This past weekend when i was in the cities i called in a couple turkeys and then when we jumped in the truck and as we were drving through a semi agriculutural area i saw a fox. Well we backed up and i watched it go right into a hole right on the farmsite right next to the road. Then she jumped back out and took off into the woods. After she dissapeared here come 4 little ones out of the den. I shouldn't call them little cause they looked like they were almost the size of the adult. Correct if im wrong but is it possible for those little critters to be almost adult size by now? I was confused. I didn't know wether to call them juveniles or just pups or adults. My head was really spinning

I seen some fox pups on monday or tuesday but they were still pretty small but coyotehunter is right they whelp earlier then coyotes so they get a head start
This female was going back to the pups with breakfast. I cut the stomack out and hung it on the ranchers scale. 7 lbs of antelope in her stomach. she will puke that all up for them.
damn thats a pile!!! So they regurgitate there food like birds do. I suppose the pups are starting to get old enough now that they can start eating more solid foods and get off of mamas tit.

really early for pups to be eating solids. 7 lbs is really more than what is usual. The scale is a brand new meat scale he had in the garage, should be pretty accurate. I thought she was carring pups because of how big she was.
